Hi everyone,
Good news!
It is now available on-line a wind resource map of the entire world with a resolution of 200 m and for hub heights between 10 and 100 m. It is the result of more than 15 years of re-analysis data combined with meso-scale wind modelling.
The map is available at
https://dashboards.awstruepower.com
You just have to create a new account in “register for a free account”.
Then, once you log in, you should see the wind resource map. Going to the “compass” (on the bottom left) you can select the coordinates (in decimal latitude and longitude) and the height above ground level (in “wind speed (…)”). This will show the mean wind speed, Weibull parameters and wind rose at the selected place.
I think this can be useful in order to a-priori identify if a certain area has good or bad wind resources.
If have any problem or you cannot access the data, please let me know at matteo.ranaboldo@gmail.com
