STEM renewable energy courses with open source technologies

The project “Promoting STEM Courses to Young Students for Renewable Energy with Open Source Technology” consists of developing educational tools in secondary schools for the training of professionals with a criterion focused on solving problems, such as capturing potential opportunities in the innovation of renewable energy applications and their sustainable development.

Three different courses will be taught in 6 different technical schools on topics related to renewable energy with the construction of open source technology that will then be installed in rural areas.

This project is led by Sustainable Isolated Electrification Line (LEAS) of the Automatic Control Laboratory (LCA) from the National University of San Luis, Argentina and involves students from 6 technical schools of San Luis Province, Argentina. It is the result of a collaboration with the Wind Empowerment association and the 500RPM foundation. The two open source electronics taught for construction are the Wind Empowerment Open Small Wind Analog Charge Controller (OSWACC) project and the 500RPM-LCA OpenWEE project.

The project is financed by IEEE and will happen in 2021.

    1. Hi Charlie,

Apologies on the delayed response, this was due an administrative error. This course was closed at the time of enquiry as I understand, would you be interested in further sessions?

      Kind regards,
