Wind Empowerment Elections 2018

In the final days of the upcoming WEIndia 2018 conference (in Chennai, India), Wind Empowerment will be hosting our Annual General Meeting (AGM). During the AGM, as with previous events, we will be holding elections for roles within the Executive Board of Wind Empowerment, and for roles in the Trustee Board.

The Executive Board runs the day-to-day activities of the association, whilst the trustees oversee these efforts and advise on long term strategy.

All non-profit member organisations are eligible to vote in the election, with one vote per organisation. Individual members have no voting rights, although typically we endeavour to ensure that reasonable efforts are made to reach a consensus without need to invoke strict voting rules (ie excluding individual members from the decision making process). The Election will be held at 9.30am local time (4.00am GMT) on Friday 14th December, voting members do not have to be present to cast their vote and we will be taking email votes for those unable to join us live, physically or electronically.

All roles in the Executive Board are open for applicants. Applications should be made to, consisting of a short description of yourself and an explanation of how you feel you can contribute to the given role (or roles, if you wish to submit your candidacy for more than one role). The description for each of the available executive board roles are found in the links here:

The specification for Trustee candidates is here. As with the executive board, potential trustees candidates should contact to announce their intention to stand for election, and provide an explanation of how they can contribute to the role.

If you wish to submit an application for any of these roles, please do so before December 1st, to give us adequate time to share your application with voting members. Applicants should clearly state which role they are applying for, and make separate applications for each role for which they are applying. Previous holders of these roles are welcome to re-apply, but will be subject to the same scrutiny as all other candidates.

Please direct any questions to, and we will try to address them promptly.
