Please read this carefully to make sure you have all the info available to avoid getting lost, spending too much money, being robbed or sleeping under a bridge.
There are 2 airports in Buenos Aires. One for international flights (MINISTRO PISTARINI = EZEIZA) and one for local flights (JORGE NEWBERY = AEROPARQUE). Your international flight will most likely arrive to the first one, but when moving to Neuquén or back from Bariloche, you will be going to the other one. The second is quite close to the city and to the accommodation, the international one is not (about 35 km).
When arriving in EZE international airport, look for the “Taxi Oficial” office inside the airport, so you make sure it’s an official one. They will charge about 600 pesos (45 USD) to go to the accommodation. There is no UBER at that airport. Please note that WindEmpowerment can not offer to refund these costs as the budget is limited. Depending on the traffic, it will take between 40 and 80 min to get to the accommodation. There are no trains or buses. The only alternative is to take a special bus that only goes to the other airport, and then take a taxi or UBER from there, that option will be longer and a bit cheaper (around 25 USD).
When leaving to Neuquén, if you are staying at the offered accommodation, we will help you to call a taxi to get there, and probably there will be many people on each flight on Sunday 13/nov, so sharing a taxi will be easier and cheaper. It will take about 20 min to get to that airport, and we advise that you be there at least 1h30’ before your flight time.
When returning from Bariloche, if you are spending one or more nights in BA, you are welcome to stay again at the offered accommodation for free. You can take a taxi or UBER from the airport (the airport for local flights does have UBER, but no trains or buses).
In case of ANY doubt before or during your stay in Argentina, you can contact Esteban, Luciana or Jon by phone or whatsapp on the following numbers:
1- Luciana: +54.911.4088.2381
2- Esteban: +54.911.5996.4516
3- Jon: +54.911.3659.6816
There are 2 places available and offered for you to stay
- Esteban and Luciana’s place:
GRAL. ROCA 2530
FLORIDA (VICENTE LOPEZ)
- Esteban’s parents:
SANTA ROSA 2575
FLORIDA (VICENTE LOPEZ)
The two are very close (200m) from each other, so we’ll be all together.
The first one is much smaller, so there will probably be more people at the second, but we’ll make sure there is room for everyone. Please note, though, that we will not have enough beds or mattresses for all of you, so please bring your sleeping bag. You might need it in Bariloche too.
If anyone prefers to book their own hotel, please let us know.
When arriving at Neuquén airport, you will have two options to get to Cutral Co (which is quite far, about 120 km – 1h 30’ to 2:00h by bus):
There will be two buses offered for free. The times will be confirmed soon, but they will most likely be: 10:00 and 19:30, on Sunday 13th of November. There will not be buses offered for free on a different date.
If for any reason this is not convenient for you, the alternative option is to take a taxi to go from the airport to the bus terminal in Neuquén (which will cost you about 10 USD), and then take a bus to Cutral Co. In this case it will be at your own cost. The bus will cost about 10 USD too.
There are buses from Neuquen bus terminal to Cutral Co at the following times: 8:00, 11:30, 13:30, 17:30, 19:00, 23:00, 23:20. The company is called Albus.
In case you need to check bus services for anywhere inside Argentina, you can check the following link:
Accomodation in Neuquen is offered for free, at a hostel. If for any reason you prefer to book your own hotel, please let us know.
The venue in Cutral Co is: PARQUE TECNOLOGICO CUTRAL CO (see maps)
A bus will be offered to take all participants from Cutral Co to Bariloche on Thursday morning (leaving early, at 8 AM).
Accomodation will be offered in Bariloche in two places:
- Administración de Parques Nacionales
- Second place to be confirmed soon
Please note that there will not be enough beds and/or mattresses for everyone, so please don’t forget your sleeping bag. In case you prefer to book your own hotel, please let us know.
To go to the airport once the conference ends, on Saturday afternoon there will be a bus offered for free to take you to there. The time of this bus is not confirmed yet, but it will most likely be at around 3 PM. In case you’re leaving on a different day, you will have to book your own transportation to go to the airport, at your own cost.
The venue in Bariloche is: COLEGIO DON BOSCO (see map)
Since most of the people are not returning straight after the conference, we are planning some activities to explore the mountains, lakes and forests near Bariloche during the week-end after the conference (Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of November).
We are planning different activities; please let us know as soon as possible:
- If you’re interested in doing some group activity
- If you are interested in a hiking activity (1 or 2 days walking in the mountains)
- If you would prefer something more calm (not so much sport)
Please note that this is not included as part of the conference, and so it will be at your own cost. We are planning an activity that might have a cost of around 100-150 USD/person for the two days.
Depending on how many interested people there might be for hiking and/or for doing something more calm, we might have two separate groups with different activities.
