Welcome to the R&D corner! Here we collectively setup research projects with volunteers that contribute to make the turbines more attractive to setup in remote area’s. Proposals of everybody are very welcome. This is the place where we try to align our research power.

Introductory movie how the platform works

There are various ways how research projects can contribute to this goal. For instance this can be established by cost-out projects, trying to make towers, electronics etc more cheap or have customised cheap DIY controllers operate more effectively. Another example can be to make the turbine operation more safe for instance by designing a backup brake system. Another example can be for instance by building up our technical competence in modelling and validation, this enhances our insight and can help us when facing future design decisions. Another example can be to study the failure rates of the components and realise what kind of function fails and consequence it has resulting in a customised asset management program. In short it embraces many aspects.

We have allot of collective intelligence out there together of people that have the same mindset daring to shape this world into a better place by starting up research projects. I would like to invite you to join and contribute and be pro-active in this corner if you think you can help.

Here we try to align our researches, such that we make maximum use of our collective intelligence to go effectively forward. This means we also need to know each other specialities and all respect a few collaboration rules. Keeping it simple, I have made a 4 step procedure to get new research projects introduced in such way that we are making proper building blocks so we can stand on each others shoulders:

1. Proposal to be introduced: Fill in proposal template (see details at proposal page)
2. Explore the solution space: A clarification meeting will be scheduled by me (Skype, recorded) and a blog on the site will be setup to secure the relevancy and best way forward
3. Project description: Packed with the reflection of the previous step a frozen project description is established
4. Solution agreement: A volunteer team needs to be matched and expectancies of the members need to be clarified. Here also the end date of the project is agreed.

When all 4 steps are taken the research project can startup and will be registered in the overview. During this phase it is also possible to reflect via blog.
