WEPatagonia2016 Travel Scholarships

We are pleased to inform you that we have now secured sufficient funding to make our 2016 conference in Argentina happen! We would like to thank our kind sponsors and hosts for enabling us to make this event happen:

  • WISIONS
  • Municipality of Cutral-Co
  • APN (National Parks Association)
  • INTI (National Industrial Technology Institute)
  • 500RPM

We are excited to be able to offer a limited number of travel scholarships to Wind Empowerment member organisations and we would like to invite you to apply.

If you are interested in representing one of Wind Empowerment’s member organisations in Argentina, COMPLETE THIS FORM!

Due to the limited amount of funding we have available, after this deadline, you may be able to attend the conference, but we will not be able to offer you a travel scholarship.

So far, we have secured sufficient funds to cover the following costs: venue; food; accommodation; local transportation; human resources; other minor expenses; and up to 67% of one return flight for each Wind Empowerment member organisation. We are currently applying for further funds to top this up (e.g. 100% of one flight, 50% of two flights per member etc.), however this is by no means guaranteed. As a result, in order to attend, you must be able to source 33% of your flight cost independently.

If you are able to cover all of your own travel costs, then please do let us know, as each person who is able to do this enables us to give another less well-off person to opportunity to attend.

The event will take place from 14-19th November, in two venues: Cutral-Co (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Bariloche (Thursday afternoon, Friday and Saturday morning). See this MAP for further details Your flight should follow this itinerary:

ORIGIN – Buenos Aires – Neuquén // Bariloche – Buenos Aires – ORIGIN.

This event will differ from WEAthens2014, as there will be no parallel sessions since we believe the opinion of all members is relevant for all the activities being (or to be) carried out by all the Working Groups. Each Working Group session is provisionally structured as followed:
·         Summary of activities carried out in the last two years and presentation of kick-starter project results (30 min)
·         Feedback and debate  regarding kick-starter project (1 hour)
·         Debate on future opportunities of collaboration among members (1,5 hours)
·         Wrap-up and conclusions (30 min)

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch (WEPatagonia2016@gmail.com) if you have any questions for us about the event.

Thank you,
The Wind Empowerment Executive Board
