Dear Small Wind Turbine User,
This e-mail is to inform you about a survey currently being conducted by the Maintenance Working Group of Wind Empowerment. We would like to ask for your participation to help improve our knowledge about maintenance issues in our network.
The main problem of small wind turbines is their maintenance needs. They require a lot of care and it’s much more fun to build the wind turbine than to maintain or fix it.
To our knowledge maintenance failures and their consequences are known only locally and rarely shared. To help with that issue we want to to facilitate the maintenance operation by having a quantitative feedback of your maintenance experience with your small wind turbine through the questionnaire below.
This questionnaire will take less than 30 minutes of your time. It’s divided in 4 parts :
- User data/ user experience
- General information about your system
- General information about your maintenance
- Failures causes and consequences.
You can start it, leave it on side (by registering it) and finish it later on. The survey will be online for around one month up to the 28th of October.
The results will be available in November on the Wind Empowerment website. Results will also be included in the new WE maintenance Manual.
IMPORTANT: One turbine = one survey. If you owned/ installed many turbines, we propose you to fill at least three surveys : one for your worst turbine (in term of failure), one for your best turbine, and one for what you consider to be your average turbine.
