|The training is the moment where the students get acquainted with the technology. This year’s training was a success and the students are now preparing to go to the field||Funds are important to any project. Up to this point, the project is running on the red. For this, we need your help!||Once everything is ready, the students will go to the field. This is an important moment for them and for the project.||By the end of their 12 week internship, the students will have deployed several data loggers, trained locals and made sense through their internships.|
Wind turbine practitioners install their wind turbines based on their knowledge of the terrain and their installation experience. Few of them have access to precise measurement instruments which could help them in finding a good installation site and monitoring it once the wind turbine is installed.
The Wind Empowerment members need copies of the Windlogger and the appropriate training to use them.
Deploying technology requires time and resources. This project mobilizes both with the best Wind Empowerment has to offer: synergy among its members and the enthusiasm of the youth.
Our objective is to send about 20 students across the world with copies of the Windlogger ready for deployment.
How the project will work
The main idea of this project is that ideas (and technology) need a host to be transfered and face-to-face transfer are the best way to go!
In our case we have hosts: a group of students from France who are eager to travel across the world to deploy our technology.
The project timeline is:
- Preparation (January to April 2017) – During this period, the students will get training on the data logger itself and the funds will be raised to acquire all the materials we need for the next phase.
- Deployment (April to July 2017) – During this period, the students will go to different Wind Empowerment members for their internships and take the technology with them. They will install the data loggers and train the local partners on data acquisition and analysis.
