WETanzania2020 postponed

Wind Empowerment Official Statement April 15th 2020

As a precautionary measure taken in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Wind Empowerment (WE) board members have decided to postpone the Conference in Dodoma, Tanzania to next year in 2021. This decision has been taken to ensure the health and well-being of participants considering the COVID-19 situation and as a result of in-depth discussions with our hosts, TAREA and GreenEnergy4All. At this challenging time, WE, TAREA and GreenEnergy4All join the international community in standing in solidarity with affected countries.

Tanzania will remain the host country for the WEConference in 2021. Preparations will proceed to ensure the best possible results for the conference. Our intention is to reschedule the event once the situation allows it and we will keep all our members informed.

WE will still be planning the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the end of 2020 and more information will be posted about it in the coming months.

The board also decided to go on with a virtual conference by the end of 2020, the details of which will be decided in the next board meetings.

Stay safe and we are looking forward to seeing you all at the WETanzania2021 for the WE 10th anniversary!
