Hello and welcome to the fifth v3 newsletter.Our main news is that we have three public Hand Built Wind Turbine coursescoming up in April and May in London, Somersetand Edinburgh! We still have a few places left so please get in touch if you’re keen! We’ve recently changed the venue for the Bristol course to Rockaway Park, an amazing cavern of salvaged creativity in an old quarry site in Somerset just 30 minutes south of Bristol. We visited on our way back from teaching in Cornwall in January and were treated to the most delicious vegan lunch by Marta in their beautiful home where you could stay as an airbnb guest!
Preparing for providing power at various festivals this summer, kicking off with Tom’s local, Belper Goes Green, then Glastonbury and a new sustainability festival in Somerset this September called Valley Fest.
Preparing to help Nottingham Engineers without Borders complete their 2.4m turbine.
Set-up our bicycle powered cinema as part of Sheffield Hallam Sustainability week.
Completed a People Powered commission for a 10:10 campaign stunt around keeping the Northern Powerhouse clean!
Been to Ethiopia as part of a Wind Empowerment project with Mercy Corps to provide renewable off grid power using locally manufactured small wind turbines and solar panels.
Visited a range of sites keen to host a V3 turbine including an Ecological Land Co-operative in Devon, a dog hotel in Derbyshire, a Steam Railway club and Tipi Valley, a low impact village in the South Wales.
V3 Power’s Upcoming Courses
We have a few spaces left on our Hand Built Wind Turbine courses in London and Bristol next month, please get in touch if you’d like to take part!

V3 Power’s 10th Birthday!
V3 Power have been empowering people to take the power back through DIY renewable energy for 10 years!
We’re currently planning a celebration of this milestone in the summer and will certainly keep you posted!
Groundswell Year of Climate Action
From the 4th-15th May people across the world are taking action to Break Free from fossil fuels and support renewables. This is part of a year longGroundswell campaign for people powered climate action post Paris.
Last year 1,500 people took part in the Ende Gelande (Here & No Further) action to close down the Rhineland Coal Fields, the single biggest emitter of CO2 in the world action.
This year Reclaim the Power are co-ordinating an action camp from 30th April to 4th May, in Wales to close down Ffos-y-fran, the UK’s largest open cast coal mine!
