Designing and building a small wind turbine for the International Small Wind Contest
- The NHL university in the Netherlands hosts a small wind turbine design competition, requiring teams to design and manufacture their own turbine.
- A group from the EWB Sheffield entered the competition and set up a team with little prior experience in wind turbine design.
- The team produced a turbine based on simple manufacturing techniques which did well in the competition
- Undergraduates are perfectly placed to be of large benefit the wind power community; they’re enthusiastic, are keen to learn and have many resources at their disposal(such as expertise, funding and manufacturing capabilities).
