While studying aerospace engineering I developed an interest for renewable energy, namely wind turbines. This interest lead to a semester project on the static, dynamic and transient analysis of a wind turbine blade and later to an internship on the aerodynamic optimization of a wind turbine blade.
Small wind turbine experience:
Seeking a more practical experience with renewable energy I worked for two years as a Renewable Energy Engineer at blueEnergy Nicaragua. There I was responsible for the implementation of small wind turbine and solar PV based rural electrification projects, as well as coordinating the team implementing these projects. Due to the challenges of implementing small wind turbines at the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, my experience focus on maintenance and on robustness improvement of the turbines. I also have experience on the manufacturing, assessment of sites, planning and installation. I had the chance of sharing and expanding this knowledge at the conferences in Dakar (2010), Lima (2011) and Athens (2014)
Currently I am working as a Stress Engineer for the Airbus A350XWD program at Airbus Helicopters in Southern Germany. I remain connected to small wind turbines through academical research and support of students and organizations working on the topic. Please feel free to contact me!
I live in Augsburg, where I grow vegetables indoors together with a neighbour. We are gathering experience on the field with the idea of perhaps starting a company offering indoor urban gardening solutions. On weekends I usually leave the city and go the mountains for a hike and on holidays I get my backpack and do what I like the best: Travel!
