Each proposal will go through 4 phases before it is matured into a start of a research project.
Each proposal phase will have a proposal page where people can find information and contribute with their reflections.
- Submit proposal: everybody can submit a proposal by filling in the first worksheet of the attached proposal template (template) . Please send it to: send proposal. Then the proposal will be submitted on the first proposal page on the site.
- Explore solution space: The first phase is followed by a clarification presentation (given by proposal owner) and “explore solution space” session (Skype) will be setup and announced. These presentations will be recorded and also posted on the second proposal page so they can also been seen afterwards. During this phase it is also very valuable to have feedback from the people by blogging. The proposal owner will condense all relevant feedback in the minutes on that page.
- Project description: Armed with the reflection of the previous phase, the proposal owner can finalise the project description and get frozen. The final description will be filled in the 3rd proposal page and needs to be in consensus with potential people that have intention to contribute to this project.
- Team up: Once the project is defined and the scope of work is clarified, a team needs to be formed that wants to voluntarily work on this project. Hopefully some people that have been involved in the previous phases will get involved, otherwise we need to look actively in our network if we can find the right persons for this. To ensure what can be expected of each person in the team during the project phase, a solution agreement needs to be filled in. This is the 4th proposal page where also a Gantt chart is included that needs to be filled in and attached. Then the project is ready to be launched and a workspace for the research team will be setup on a project page. Depending on the desires of the specific research team, they can control how much they like to have the others involved in the project phase.
